Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) gained 2% on 5 August after the company secured an ultra-mega offshore project from ADNOC Offshore in the UAE, adding another major international contract to its order book.

L&T defines an ultra-mega order as a contract worth more than Rs 15,000 crore. The contract has been awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore), which will execute the project through a consortium while serving as the lead partner.

The scope includes the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of multiple offshore facilities, along with the upgrade of existing infrastructure in the Middle East.

A significant portion of the fabrication work will be carried out at L&T’s manufacturing yards in India. The company said this will leverage its integrated EPCIC capabilities and decades of experience in executing complex offshore energy projects across the region.

The latest order further strengthens L&T’s long-standing relationship with ADNOC Offshore, one of the world’s largest offshore oil and gas producers. It also reinforces the company’s strong presence in the Middle East, where it has delivered several large-scale hydrocarbon and energy infrastructure projects over the years.

The project will strengthen its already healthy order pipeline and support future revenue streams. Large international contracts such as this also enhance the company’s position in the global engineering and construction market.

The ADNOC order comes at a time when energy companies in the Middle East continue to invest heavily in expanding offshore production capacity. For L&T, the win underscores its engineering expertise and its ability to execute large and complex projects for global energy clients.
