T&R surges after bagging a large order from APTRANSCO.

Transformers and Rectifiers (T&R) India shares hit a day high of Rs 305.90 on the NSE on Friday after bagging a large order from APTRANSCO.

The order came from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh, better known as APTRANSCO.

The company received a Letter of Intent for a project valued between Rs 100 crore and Rs 500 crore. The scope of work involves manufacturing transformers along with related activities.

Delivery is scheduled over the next 13 months, and the company has classified this as a large order under its own internal system.

There’s a bigger one still in the pipeline too. Back on 30 June, the company had picked up an order from Power Grid Corporation of India for transformers of various capacities.

That earlier order falls under what the company calls its “ultra-mega” category, reserved for contracts worth more than Rs 1,000 crore excluding GST.

The exact value wasn’t disclosed. That project has a longer runway too, with completion expected over 30 months. Now for the financials.

The company’s June quarter results came in mixed. Consolidated net profit fell nearly 9% to Rs 61.52 crore, even as revenue from operations grew over 8% to Rs 572.34 crore compared with the same quarter last year.

Despite today’s jump, the stock hasn’t had an easy run lately. It’s down close to 11% over the past month and slightly negative for the year so far.

T&R India shares closed at Rs 298.05 on the NSE on Friday, up 2.07% for the day.
