Infosys shares fell on Tuesday in a broadly weak NSE session, hours before the company announced a long-term AI deal with Knorr-Bremse.
The deal covers a wide scope. Infosys will deliver end-to-end managed services across Knorr-Bremse’s entire enterprise application system, spanning both its Rail and Commercial Vehicle divisions.
This includes everything from core ERP and data platforms to the engineering and product lifecycle systems the company uses to design its braking systems and safety components.
The partnership sits under Knorr-Bremse’s internal programme, called Tech4Value, which is focused on modernising its IT setup globally.
Infosys will use its AI platform, Topaz, to bring generative and agentic AI tools into the mix, aiming to move past standard managed services and toward measurable efficiency gains.
Knorr-Bremse’s Chief Digital Officer, Satheeskaran Navaratnam, said the goal is to make the company’s technology as reliable as the safety-critical systems it builds for customers.
Infosys’ Jasmeet Singh, who leads the company’s global manufacturing business, said the collaboration combines manufacturing expertise with automation to support faster issue resolution and ongoing modernisation.
No financial value for the deal was disclosed, which is typical for large-scale IT services contracts where value unfolds over the life of the engagement rather than being stated upfront.
Despite the announcement, Infosys stock didn’t hold onto early gains. As of the market close on Tuesday, the stock settled at βΉ1,113.80 on the NSE, down 2.29% from the previous close of βΉ1,139.90.
