Shares of Atlanta Electricals Ltd were trading in the red and almost 3% lower on 19 August despite the company receiving a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APTRANSCO) for an order worth Rs 193.92 crore, including GST.
The contract covers the design, manufacture, testing and supply of 12 units of 160 MVA, 220/132 kV auto transformers, strengthening the company’s presence in India’s power transmission segment.
Under the order, Atlanta Electricals will also handle the unloading of the transformers as specified in the tender. The project will be executed according to APTRANSCO’s technical specifications and commercial terms.
The company said the order reflects growing confidence among state transmission utilities in its ability to supply high-capacity transformer solutions for critical power infrastructure.
The latest order adds to Atlanta Electricals’ already strong order pipeline. As of the June quarter, the company’s total order book stood at Rs 3,116.63 crore, up 25% quarter-on-quarter.
During Q1 FY27, the company secured order inflows of Rs 972.42 crore, providing visibility across transmission and distribution, renewable energy and industrial applications. More than 55% of its order book consists of 220 kV transformers, while 400 kV transformers and reactors account for nearly Rs 275 crore.
The order comes at a time when India’s electricity transmission infrastructure is undergoing significant expansion. Rising renewable energy capacity, higher electricity demand and the need to strengthen inter-state and intra-state transmission networks are driving demand for high-voltage transformers and related equipment.
For Atlanta Electricals, the latest APTRANSCO order provides additional revenue visibility and strengthens its position in the extra-high-voltage transformer market. The company’s manufacturing capabilities include power, auto and inverter-duty transformers, with aggregate manufacturing capacity of 16,740 MVA across its facilities.
At 1:46 pm, the shares of Atlanta Electricals were trading 2.64% lower at Rs 1,727.50 on NSE.
