United Breweries shares rose over 2% on August 26, touching a day high of Rs 1,386.80 on the NSE after its Heineken Silver launch news.
The rally came after the company confirmed it had rolled out Heineken Silver in three new states. So what actually pushed the stock up? It comes down to one simple thing: United Breweries is putting its premium beer brand in front of more customers, and investors seem to like that plan.
Let’s break this down a bit. United Breweries said it has expanded Heineken Silver into Kerala, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, effective August 25. This premium mild lager is made with just three ingredients, barley, hops and water, along with Heineken’s own A-Yeast and a horizontal brewing process that gives it a smoother taste.
Vikram Bahl, Chief Marketing Officer at United Breweries, said the response to Heineken Silver so far shows that Indian drinkers are increasingly looking for differentiated premium beer options. He added that the company wants to keep building its premium range and get the brand into more markets.
This isn’t the first time United Breweries has pushed Heineken Silver into a new region. The brand first launched in Delhi back in November 2025, so this latest move to three more states builds on that early rollout.
On the earnings side, United Breweries posted a standalone net profit of Rs 166 crore for the June quarter, ahead of street estimates of Rs 147 crore. Revenue for the quarter climbed 7.1% to Rs 3,067 crore, while EBITDA came in at Rs 283 crore.
As of the latest trade on Wednesday, United Breweries shares were at Rs 1,351.70 on the NSE, up 0.23% for the day. The stock had opened at Rs 1,370.60 against a previous close of Rs 1,348.60, and remains well off its 52-week high of Rs 1,890.80.
