Apollo Tyres Shares Steady After Rs 930 Crore Block Deal

Apollo Tyres Ltd
At the price the deal went through, that's a transaction worth close to Rs 930 crore.

Apollo Tyres shares hit a day high of Rs 448 on Thursday, shortly before a large block deal worth around Rs 930 crore hit the counter.

What actually got the stock into the news was a large block deal executed in the pre-market window. Around 2.14 crore shares changed hands, which works out to 3.37% of Apollo Tyres’ total outstanding equity.

At the price the deal went through, that’s a transaction worth close to Rs 930 crore. Nobody has disclosed who was on either side of the trade yet.

Deals this size usually catch attention because they point to a big institutional move, even when the stock itself doesn’t swing much in response.

By mid-morning, regular trading volume stood at 1.69 lakh shares, adding up to a traded value of Rs 7.52 crore. Sellers had the upper hand in the order book too, accounting for nearly 70% of total quantity on offer.

Zooming out a bit, Apollo Tyres has gained 5.64% over the past month, though it’s still down more than 10% since the start of the year.

On the corporate side, the company has kept exchanges updated on a few routine matters recently.

It filed a cut-off related disclosure on August 25, an update on its ESG rating on August 14, and a notification about a new appointment on August 13.

As of 10:14 am, Apollo Tyres shares were trading at Rs 443.65 on the NSE, up 0.14% for the day.

The stock’s 52 week range stands between Rs 365.30 and Rs 540.50, and the company’s market capitalisation currently works out to around Rs 28,106 crore.
