Adani Green's operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 20.28 GW.

Adani Green Energy shares are likely to remain in focus after the company commissioned a 139 MW solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat.

The latest addition takes the company’s total operational renewable energy generation capacity to 20,280.80 MW, crossing the 20 GW milestone. The development further strengthens Adani Green’s position in India’s large-scale renewable energy sector.

The newly commissioned project was operationalised on September 1, 2026, and is located at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. The region has become a major centre for Adani Green’s renewable energy expansion, with the company rapidly adding solar and wind capacity at the site.

With the latest commissioning, Adani Green’s operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 20.28 GW. The company also has an operational Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity of 3,551 MWh, giving it additional capability to store and manage renewable power.

The latest project comes as Adani Green continues to scale up its Khavda renewable energy park. The company is developing the project with a planned capacity of 30 GW by 2029. As of March 2026, Adani Green had already installed around 9.4 GW of cumulative capacity at Khavda, highlighting the rapid pace of development at the site.

Khavda is strategically important for the company’s long-term growth plans because it allows Adani Green to develop large-scale renewable generation in a single location. The company has been commissioning projects in phases, helping it steadily increase its operational capacity while building a large renewable energy portfolio.

The addition also comes as India’s power demand continues to rise and the country works towards expanding its non-fossil fuel generation capacity. Large renewable projects are expected to play an important role in meeting future electricity demand while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

Overall, the commissioning of the 139 MW project is a positive operational development for Adani Green, taking its renewable energy capacity beyond 20 GW and highlighting the company’s continued focus on rapid renewable capacity expansion.
