TCS touched a day high of Rs 2,274.50 on Tuesday after winning a Rs 122.6 crore digital governance contract from Odisha.
The order is worth Rs 122.6 crore and involves building the next phase of the state’s digital governance system, known as OSWAS 3.0.
This new deal extends TCS’s working relationship with the Odisha government by roughly six years.
OSWAS 3.0 will bring together workflow automation, system integration, analytics, security, and artificial intelligence features onto one common digital platform.
The system is built on TCS’s DigiBOLT platform and is designed to help government departments process files digitally, manage electronic approvals, and track workflows in real time.
To put the scale of this in perspective, the existing OSWAS platform is already used by more than 4,600 government offices and close to 50,000 users across Odisha.
This isn’t TCS’s first project with the state either. The company originally introduced OSWAS back in 2009 to move file processing away from paper within the Odisha Secretariat.
A second version, OSWAS 2.0, followed in 2018 and expanded the system across directorates, districts and corporations.
This latest version will add a mobile-first design, support for the Odia language, and a more modern technical structure built on what’s called microservices architecture.
Speaking on the deal, Vishal Kumar Dev, Additional Chief Secretary of Odisha’s Electronics and IT Department, said OSWAS has become the digital backbone of the state government, enabling paperless and transparent governance.
Sushil Jain, who heads Public Services India at TCS, added that the new platform will be more secure, scalable, and easier for officials to use on the go.
TCS also confirmed that its work with the Odisha government includes several other projects, covering birth and death registration, financial management systems, and judicial workflow automation for the High Court of Orissa.
On Tuesday, TCS shares closed at Rs 2,255.50, down 0.64% for the day. The stock remains down over 30% so far in 2026.
