Jain Irrigation shares touched a day’s high of Rs 31.37 today after securing a Rs 117.96 crore solar pump empanelment from MSEDCL.
Jain Irrigation has been empanelled to supply and install 5,000 off grid solar water pumps across Maharashtra.
This work falls under the state’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, a scheme aimed at promoting solar powered irrigation for farmers.
The pumps will range in capacity from 3 HP to 7.5 HP, and the company needs to complete design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning within 60 days.
It is worth noting that this is an empanelment rather than a confirmed work order.
In simple terms, it means Jain Irrigation is now eligible to receive formal orders under this scheme, but actual revenue will only start coming in once MSEDCL issues specific work orders against it.
This is not the company’s first time working with MSEDCL under this solar pump scheme.
Back in August 2025, Jain Irrigation had bagged a similar contract worth Rs 135 crore for installing 5,438 solar pumps, so this latest empanelment builds on that existing relationship.
On the financial side, the company’s Hi-Tech Agri division saw a 22% year on year drop in revenue during the June 2026 quarter, falling to Rs 450.80 crore.
This new empanelment could help support that segment once actual orders start flowing in.
Coming back to today’s trade, Jain Irrigation Systems shares closed at Rs 30.20 on the NSE, up 3.89% for the day, after moving between a low of Rs 29 and a high of Rs 31.37.
