Marine Electricals has started operations at a new Goa facility to manufacture power train units for data centres, targeting 800 units yearly.

Marine Electricals has begun operations at its sixth manufacturing facility, a new plant in Goa dedicated to building Power Train Units for data centres and Shore Conversion Systems for ports. The facility became operational on September 14, 2026.

Spread across roughly 160,000 square feet, this is by far the company’s largest unit yet. Until now, Marine Electricals ran five smaller facilities in Goa along with one in Vadodara.

The new plant is designed to eventually produce around 800 Power Train Units a year, and the company expects to hit that full capacity by March 2027.

Power Train Units are a critical piece of equipment used to manage power distribution inside data centres, an area where demand has been rising quickly as cloud computing and digital infrastructure expand across India.

By setting up a dedicated, large scale facility for this segment, Marine Electricals is positioning itself to serve that growing demand more directly, rather than relying solely on smaller scale production.

This factory launch comes right after a strong run of order wins for the company. Between late August and early September this year, Marine Electricals secured a string of contracts from data centre operators.

This included orders worth Rs 398.81 crore from Princeton Digital Group and Classic Electric, followed by a Rs 229.73 crore order from Digital Edge DC, and further orders totalling Rs 80.77 crore from DXDC Chennai and Micron Semiconductor Technology.

Taken together, these wins have pushed the company’s order book to around Rs 2,073 crore as of June 2026.

On the financial side, Marine Electricals reported consolidated net sales of Rs 259.16 crore for the first quarter of FY27, up 55.2% from the same period last year.

Net profit for the quarter rose 48.75% year on year to Rs 17.27 crore, while operating profit margin improved slightly to 10.89%, compared with 10.13% a year earlier.
