JBM Auto continued to strengthen its presence in India’s electric bus market in September, registering 274 electric buses and securing around 33% of the segment, according to Vahan data cited in the report. 

The company recorded the highest number of electric bus registrations during the month. The September performance adds to JBM Auto’s strong showing during the first half of FY27. 

Between April and September, the company registered 892 electric buses and accounted for nearly 24% of India’s electric bus market. The overall market recorded 3,771 registrations during the same period.

JBM Auto has maintained a strong position in the electric public transport segment as demand for zero-emission buses expands across Indian cities. The company develops and manufactures electric buses through its integrated electric mobility ecosystem, covering vehicle design, engineering, testing and production.

The company operates a dedicated electric bus manufacturing facility in the National Capital Region with an annual production capacity of 20,000 buses. JBM’s electric buses have also accumulated more than 450 million e-kilometres and have transported over 2 billion passengers, according to company data cited in the latest report.

The latest registration numbers come after JBM Auto reported strong performance earlier in the year. In May 2026, the company registered 157 electric buses and held a 49% share of the segment, according to Vahan data. 

Its electric mobility arm JBM Ecolife Mobility also secured ₹900 crore from Motilal Oswal Private Credit in June to support the expansion of its electric bus operations.

The company’s electric mobility business is benefiting from growing government and state-level efforts to shift public transport towards cleaner vehicles. Large-scale electric bus procurement programmes are expected to remain an important source of demand for manufacturers and fleet operators.
