Bondada Engineering hit a day high of Rs 284 on 6 October after it received a Rs 1,153.93 crore EPC order for a solar project in Maharashtra.
The order is an EPC contract. That means Bondada designs the project, buys the equipment and builds the plant.
Put simply, the customer hands over the whole job and gets a working solar farm at the end.
This one is a 270 MWp ground-mounted solar plant. Bondada has six months to finish it, and the price includes taxes.
The client is linked to the company’s own promoters. The order comes from an entity in which they have an interest, so it counts as a related party transaction.
Bondada focuses on large solar EPC work, renewable energy and battery storage systems. A job of this size sits well above the orders it announced just a week earlier.
On 29 September, the company said it had won several orders worth Rs 146.9 crore across telecom, solar and street lighting.
Then, on 1 October, it reported commissioning solar projects totalling 221.7 MWp in the September quarter, across Maharashtra and Gujarat. The financing side moved too.
On 5 October, its subsidiary Onix IPP Private Limited received a Rs 911.25 crore loan sanction from State Bank of India for a 225 MW solar project.
For the April to June quarter, BSE data shows sales of Rs 626.77 crore and profit of Rs 47.70 crore.
Those are the latest quarterly numbers the company has put on the exchange.
At 13:31 pm, the stock traded at Rs 281.30 on BSE, up Rs 11.45 or 4.24%. About 1.75 lakh shares had changed hands, and the company’s market value stood near Rs 3,141 crore.
