Chhattisgarh has secured investment commitments worth Rs 43,600 crore from Singapore during Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s three-day visit, led by a proposed Rs 41,750 crore AI-ready data centre campus.
The investment push marks a major step in the state’s efforts to attract global capital beyond its traditional mining and manufacturing sectors. The largest commitment came from Singapore-headquartered Energy Capital Global, which plans to develop a 100 MW AI-ready data centre campus in Chhattisgarh.
The project is expected to combine data centre infrastructure with clean-power solutions and could create opportunities for local engineers and technology professionals through training and employment.
The proposed investment comes as demand for AI computing infrastructure rises sharply across India. Chhattisgarh is looking to position itself as an emerging data centre destination, supported by land and power availability. The state government has also highlighted digital infrastructure and technology-led industries as key areas for future economic growth.
Alongside the data centre project, Sunstream Green Energy received an Invitation to Invest for a Rs 1,500 crore, 300 MW solar power project with battery storage and related components. The investment could strengthen the state’s renewable energy infrastructure while supporting the power requirements of emerging industries.
Singapore-based Valency International Pte Ltd also received an Invitation to Invest worth Rs 350 crore for an integrated agro and food processing and export hub. The project is expected to build a farm-to-market value chain and provide opportunities for farmers to access international markets. Valency operates across 22 countries.
The state also signed a memorandum of understanding with ITE Education Services, Singapore, for technical and vocational education and training. The partnership will focus on industry-aligned courses and stronger employment pathways for young people, particularly as new investments create demand for specialised skills.
Sai also held meetings with Singapore government officials and representatives of global companies, including a CEO roundtable involving more than 15 firms. Discussions covered investment, technology, skilling, urban planning, green development and tourism.
The investment commitments were secured during the inaugural Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum 2026, organised by the Singapore Business Federation. The forum brought together government leaders, businesses and investors from India and Singapore.
For Chhattisgarh, the proposed projects could accelerate its transition towards technology, renewable energy and value-added industries. However, the commitments are at different stages of development, and actual investment will depend on project execution, approvals and implementation timelines.
