BEML shares touched a day high of Rs 1,947 on 9 October, up 2%, after the defence PSU bagged a Rs 75.58 crore military vehicle export order.
The order is a two-part job. BEML will export its HMV 12×12 and HMV 8×8 vehicles to Southeast Asia and then maintain them there.
HMV stands for high mobility vehicle, and the numbers describe the wheel layout of each version.
The Bengaluru-based company told exchanges on 9 October that the order is worth about Rs 75.58 crore and came in the normal course of business. Service work is part of the package.
It is the latest in a busy stretch. BEML’s order book stood at around Rs 16,285 crore on 30 June, and its filings show more than Rs 5,764 crore in new orders across August and September.
The largest was a contract of over Rs 5,400 crore from the National High Speed Rail Corporation on 18 September for high-speed trainsets and their upkeep on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.
Smaller wins came too. Hindustan Aeronautics gave BEML Rs 184.25 crore on 11 August for fuselage parts of the Light Combat Helicopter, and Integral Coach Factory placed a Rs 180.60 crore order on 2 September for Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
The company has not yet announced a date for its September quarter results.
The stock also went ex-dividend on 22 September, for a payout of Rs 12.28 per share.
At 12:53 pm, BEML was trading at Rs 1,913 on NSE, up by 0.09% from the previous close of Rs 1,911.20.
Shares are still down 2.51% over the past week and 8.81% over the past month, and they sit below their 52-week high of Rs 2,275.75. The company’s market value is about Rs 15,933 crore.
