Shares of Blue Dart Express Ltd gained 2% on 12 October after the company announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India Post to expand its parcel delivery services across Tier III and Tier IV towns and remote locations.
The agreement, signed on 9 October 2026, aims to help the logistics company reach more customers by combining its express delivery capabilities with India Post’s extensive postal network.
Under the partnership, Blue Dart will use India Post’s network of 1.64 lakh post offices to extend deliveries to areas that may be difficult to serve through its existing infrastructure alone. The expanded network will be rolled out in phases to ensure smooth integration and consistent service quality.
The collaboration will support both prepaid and cash-on-delivery (COD) parcels. It will also include one-time password (OTP)-based delivery authentication and real-time shipment tracking, helping customers monitor their consignments and verify deliveries.
The arrangement combines Blue Dart’s express logistics network with India Post’s reach across urban, semi-urban and rural areas. It is expected to improve last-mile connectivity and provide businesses with access to customers in smaller towns and underserved regions.
The partnership could be particularly useful for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), online sellers and larger businesses looking to expand beyond major cities. As online shopping grows in smaller towns, dependable delivery services are becoming increasingly important for businesses looking to reach new markets.
For Blue Dart, access to India Post’s established infrastructure offers a way to broaden its delivery footprint without having to build an entirely new network of facilities in every location. The partnership could also help the company serve growing e-commerce demand in remote areas.
India Post, meanwhile, could generate additional parcel volumes by working with an established private logistics operator. The collaboration also creates an opportunity to combine public postal infrastructure with private-sector delivery expertise.
At 1:12 pm, the shares of Blue Dart Express were trading 0.15% higher at Rs 4,567.50 on NSE.
