Aequs Limited shares hit a day high of Rs 275 on 13 October, after the aerospace firm signed new long-term supply agreements with Safran.
The company told exchanges on 12 October that the deals are done. Currently, Aequs collaborates with six Safran companies.
The new contracts build on its older ties with Safran Landing Systems. Additionally, they expand the partnership to include Safran Electronics & Defense and Safran Aerosystems.
The awards cover three jobs. It will machine parts from superalloys, which are metals built to handle extreme heat and stress. It will handle complex coating work.
And it will assemble landing gear components. These parts go into the Airbus A320, A330 and A350 and the Boeing 787.
A large portion of the work will be done in the future Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
All medium and large parts will be housed at the Hosur plant, expanding the company’s Belagavi aerospace cluster.
Chairman and CEO Aravind Melligeri said the components rank among the hardest flight-critical products to put into production, meaning parts a plane relies on in the air.
He said the awards show how deep India’s aerospace manufacturing skills have grown.
The agreements come after Safran Landing Systems agreed to provide fully built wheels for the A320 series in July 2026.
That contract runs through 2042, making it the company’s first serial production agreement to stretch beyond 15 years.
Those wheels will be made entirely in India, starting from Indian-sourced aluminium.
At 11:25 am on 13 October, Aequs traded at Rs 264.60 on NSE, down Rs 1.30 or 0.49% from the previous close of Rs 265.90.
The stock opened at Rs 274.45, near the day’s high, and touched a low of Rs 262.70. It has gained 17.07% over the past month and 91.44% so far this year.
