RailTel Bags Rs 48.97 Crore Work Order from Odisha

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd
The contract involves developing 83 digital application modules.

RailTel Corporation of India has secured a work order worth Rs 48.97 crore, including taxes, from the Higher Education Department of the Odisha government.

The contract involves developing 83 digital application modules for the department’s comprehensive digital governance platform, strengthening the company’s presence in government technology and digital infrastructure projects.

Under the contract, RailTel will develop 83 digital application modules to support the department’s digital governance platform. The project also includes deploying the resources needed to execute the work and integrating the new applications with the department’s existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

ERP systems help organisations manage and connect functions such as administration, data and internal operations. Integrating the new modules with existing systems is expected to support a more connected digital framework for the department.

The contract has been awarded by a domestic government entity. RailTel is required to complete the project by May 10, 2027, according to the reported order details.

The latest order expands RailTel’s portfolio of technology projects for government departments and public-sector organisations. The company provides telecommunications, networking and information technology services, and participates in projects involving digital platforms and e-governance solutions.

Government departments are increasingly using integrated digital systems to manage information and administrative processes. Projects such as this create opportunities for technology service providers like RailTel to contribute to public-sector digitalisation.

However, the value of a work order does not translate directly into profit. The financial impact will depend on execution costs, project timelines and the revenue recognised as the work progresses.

The Rs 48.97 crore contract adds to RailTel’s project pipeline and highlights its role in delivering digital solutions for government agencies.
