Power Mech Projects Bags Rs 327 Cr Vedanta Aluminium Order

Power Mech Projects Ltd
Power Mech Projects surges after it won a Rs 327.35 crore Vedanta Aluminium Metal order.

Power Mech Projects Ltd touched a day high of Rs 2,418.10 on 19 October, the day it won a Rs 327.35 crore Vedanta Aluminium Metal order.

Put simply, Power Mech will keep the lights on at Vedanta’s Lanjigarh site in Odisha.

The company will run and maintain a 130 MW power plant from start to finish. That plant has three units, two of 50 MW each and one of 30 MW.

It will also look after the supporting systems around a separate 90 MW coal-fired co-generation plant at the same location.

These are the facilities that support the main units. The contract is worth Rs 327.35 crore, excluding GST, and runs for 48 months.

Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd, a domestic company, handed over the work. There is no related-party angle here.

In its filing, Power Mech said neither its promoters nor its promoter group or group companies hold any interest in Vedanta Aluminium Metal.

This is not the first Vedanta job for the company. Back in September, it won a Rs 970 crore contract from Vedanta Power Ltd to run the 2×600 MW Sakti Thermal Plant over 60 months.

Over the past year, the stock is down 11.64%, though it is still up 3.44% so far in 2026.

Its 52-week high is Rs 3,007.50, hit on 22 June, and its market value stands near Rs 7,450 crore. The Nifty 50 was down 1.13% at the time.

At 13:26 pm, it’s trading at Rs 2,357.20 on NSE, down by 1.24% or Rs 29.70 from the previous close.
