KEC International shares fell 4% on 23 October and hit a 52-week low of Rs 317.25, even after it announced new orders worth Rs 1,006 crore.
KEC International Ltd told the exchange about the orders at 12:48 pm. The company is part of the RPG Group.
It builds power lines and wind projects, and it also makes cables and conductors. That makes three order announcements in about two weeks.
On 9 October, the company said it had won Rs 1,030 crore of work.
That covered a 400 kV power line in Bhutan, a 380 kV line in Saudi Arabia, and towers, hardware and poles for customers in the Americas.
It also included a wind project of more than 300 MW for a private developer in southern India, along with several cable and conductor orders.
The kV figure is the line’s voltage, and a higher number means it can carry power over longer distances.
In that update, Managing Director and CEO Vimal Kejriwal said the Bhutan order marks the company’s return to that market and widens its overseas footprint.
He added that wind work keeps gaining pace, with a new private developer now on the customer list.
A day later, on 10 October, it announced Rs 1,014 crore of new power transmission and distribution orders in India.
The most recent dividend listed on the NSE is Rs 5.50 per share, with an ex-date of 7 August.
The wider market was soft too, with the Nifty 50 down 0.58% to 22,555.70.
At 14:14 pm, it’s trading at Rs 324.00 on the NSE, down Rs 7.95 from the previous close of Rs 331.95.
The stock has lost 19.48% over the past month and 61.83% over the past year. Its market value stands at Rs 8,624.88 crore, and its 52-week high is Rs 858.80.
