Ramky Infrastructure shares jumped 9% to a day high of Rs 268 on 26 October after winning a Rs 588.57 crore contract from state-run RVNL.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd gave Ramky the order, and the company told exchanges about it on 24 October.
It is a domestic contract. The work is housing inside the NMDC Township at Bacheli in Chhattisgarh.
Put simply, Ramky takes charge of delivering the entire project.
The package includes 15 Type-III towers with 600 homes and a Type-IV tower with 40 homes. A Type-V tower adds 30 more, which brings the total to about 670.
A bungalow, a shopping complex, a cafeteria and outside development work complete the list. The contract is worth Rs 588.57 crore. That includes GST.
The order equals roughly a third of Ramky’s market value of Rs 1,792.57 crore at current prices. Ramky has 30 months from the appointed date to finish.
A 12-month period for fixing defects follows, and any defects covered under the contract fall on the company during that time.
The company said its promoters and group companies have no interest in the awarding entity. Ramky already had plenty of work lined up.
Its order book stood above Rs 13,000 crore on 31 March 2026, after the company reported roughly Rs 4,500 crore of new orders in the March quarter.
It also declared a dividend of Re 1 per share, with an ex-date of 18 September.
At 12:40 pm, the stock’s trading at Rs 259.05 on NSE, up by 5.5% from the previous close of Rs 245.55.
Even after the jump, it is down 53.01% so far this year and 60.12% over the past year, and it sits not far above its 52-week low of Rs 244, hit on 23 October.
