WeWork India teased upcoming major space expansion agreements for the coming quarters, though official deal specifics remain undisclosed.
The signal came on 27 October, according to a market news alert, on the same day the company released its July to September results.
Management is reported to be working on major deals, but no partners, values or dates have been named.
WeWork India rents office buildings, fits them out and lets companies use desks or whole floors on flexible terms.
Whether the new agreements involve landlords, corporate clients or both remains unclear.
The quarter itself was a strong one. Revenue rose 31.6% from a year earlier to Rs 768.7 crore, while profit after tax climbed 67.4% to Rs 65.8 crore.
Those figures follow the company’s IGAAP-equivalent measure, which it reports alongside the statutory numbers.
Under the statutory Ind-AS accounting, WeWork India posted a net loss of around Rs 4 crore in the April to June quarter, against a Rs 53.2 crore profit on the IGAAP-equivalent basis.
Compared with April to June, revenue grew 10.1% from Rs 698 crore and profit rose 23.7%.
The company also added 11,700 desks in the quarter. That took its total to 145,300 desks across 85 centres in eight cities.
The pace matches the plan WeWork India laid out in July. It said then that it intends to add nearly 28,000 desks during FY27, after bringing in about 7,000 in the first quarter.
The firm also called FY27 the start of a new investment cycle, and said it would keep a tight grip on margins while it expands.
For now, the quarterly numbers are the only hard figures on the table. Everything else about the agreements will have to wait for a formal announcement.
