Coforge launched a service for companies to run AI agent teams that write, test, and check software under human supervision.

The IT services firm unveiled the Autonomous Software Factory (ASF) on Thursday, 29 October, in a press release shared with the NSE. Think of ASF as an assembly line for software.

Many specialised AI agents work side by side inside secure systems. One writes code, another tests it, a third reviews it and a fourth checks quality, all at the same time.

Coforge says writing code with AI is no longer the hard part. The harder job is keeping dozens of agents organised, safe and accountable once a big company relies on them.

The firm designed ASF around that problem, with rules and human sign-off in place from day one.

For clients, the pitch is quicker delivery without loosening security or compliance checks.

Vic Gupta, Executive Vice President at Coforge, said the industry is entering a ‘post-coding era’.

In his view, the firms that coordinate and govern AI agents best will pull ahead.

The company also wants its engineers to spend less time on routine tasks and more on design, key decisions and business results.

Coforge did not share any revenue or cost figures for ASF itself. Its latest earnings do show the scale it works at, though.

The launch comes days after the September-quarter results. Revenue rose 53.6% from a year earlier to Rs 6,170.8 crore, helped by the Encora acquisition.

In dollar terms, revenue grew 40.1% to $652.2 million. Net profit climbed 56.5% to Rs 588.1 crore.

Coforge also booked fresh orders worth $1.04 billion in the quarter and raised its full-year operating profit margin (EBIT) target to 16% from 15.5%.
