Adani Ports Places $3.3 Billion Bid for Evos Terminals; Shares Slump

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ)
Evos Terminals is owned by Igneo Infrastructure Partners and operates eight liquid storage terminals.

Shares of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) slumped 2% on 30 October after the company submitted a binding offer of $3.3 billion to acquire Evos Terminals, that is a major liquid storage operator in Europe.Β

The proposed deal is part of the company’s efforts to expand its international presence and strengthen its position in the global energy infrastructure business.

Evos Terminals is owned by Igneo Infrastructure Partners and operates eight liquid storage terminals across seven ports in five European countries. Together, these facilities have a storage capacity of 6.4 million cubic metres.

The company handles conventional fuels such as petrol as well as newer energy products, including biodiesel, sustainable aviation fuel, green naphtha and bioethanol. Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were estimated at 200 million euros in 2025.

Adani Ports has submitted its offer as part of a competitive sale process. Several global investors and infrastructure companies, including KKR, EQT, Macquarie, BlackRock and CPP Investments, have also shown interest. A final decision is expected in the coming weeks.

The proposed acquisition follows Adani Ports’ unsuccessful attempt to acquire Associated British Ports in the UK.

The acquisition could give Adani Ports access to important European energy storage facilities and help diversify its international operations. The company is also evaluating around 20 assets, including ports and terminals, as part of its expansion strategy.

If successful, the deal could strengthen its presence in liquid storage and support its long term plans in the changing global energy market.

At 12:55 pm, the shares of Adani Port were trading 1% lower at Rs 1,853.30 on NSE.
