Provision Labs, the physical artificial intelligence venture founded by Pronto CEO Anjali Sardana, has acquired Mumbai based hardware startup Basilisk Industries for an undisclosed amount. 

The acquisition will help Provision strengthen its hardware capabilities as it develops technology to train and test AI systems designed to perform real world tasks.

The deal was announced on 2 November 2026. Basilisk founder Shourya Watwani will join Provision as its head of hardware and lead the company’s hardware development and in house post processing models.

Founded in 2023, Basilisk Industries specialises in perception technology, which allows machines to understand and interpret their surroundings.

Its team has already developed a 3D hand tracking model, redesigned Provision’s perception hardware and built an early version of a lightweight tactile glove. The glove is designed to capture touch related information, which cameras alone cannot record.

These technologies could help robots better understand human movements, objects and physical interactions.

Provision Labs focuses on collecting real world data that developers need to train and test physical AI systems. These systems use artificial intelligence to interact with the physical environment and perform tasks through robots and other machines.

The company is also expanding its research and engineering teams across San Francisco, Toronto and Bengaluru. It is hiring professionals in computer vision, perception, tactile data, environment reconstruction and hardware development.

The acquisition gives Provision access to hardware expertise and technology that could strengthen its physical AI capabilities. It also reflects the growing interest in building AI systems that can perform practical tasks beyond digital environments.

However, the company will also need to address concerns around data collection, privacy and user consent as it expands its operations.
