Singapore Airlines has reported that around 46,000 booking records may have been affected by a cybersecurity incident involving its reservation technology provider, Amadeus. 

The airline said its own IT systems were not breached, but some customer information stored on the third party platform may have been accessed. The incident was disclosed on 04 November 2026 and adds to concerns about data security in the global aviation industry.

Singapore Airlines said the affected records included customer names, booking reference numbers, travel itineraries and booking classes.

For around 620 booking records, additional information such as email addresses, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer membership numbers may also have been accessed.

However, Amadeus confirmed that bank account and credit card information was not exposed. The airline also said there was no evidence that any bookings had been modified.

Singapore Airlines is contacting affected customers, particularly those with upcoming travel plans. As a precaution, the airline plans to change booking reference numbers for some affected customers.

The company has also informed the relevant authorities and is working with Amadeus to understand the full impact of the incident.

Amadeus said it had identified a vulnerability in a travel booking display environment and has taken steps to contain the issue.

The incident shows how a cybersecurity problem at a third party technology provider can affect multiple companies. Other airlines, including Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines, have also reported that customer data may have been affected by the Amadeus incident.

While payment information was not exposed, leaked booking and travel details could potentially be used for targeted phishing or fraud attempts.

Customers should remain cautious about unexpected emails, messages or calls related to their travel bookings.
