US based drone delivery startup Zipline has raised $1.5 billion in its latest funding round, taking its post money valuation to $21.5 billion.
The valuation has nearly tripled in about 10 months, highlighting growing investor interest in the drone delivery industry. The funding round was led by Paradigm, WCM Investment Management and Layer Global. Other investors included Uber, Tiger Global and J.P. Morgan, among others.
Zipline plans to use the fresh capital to expand its manufacturing facilities in the United States, hire more employees and develop a nationwide drone delivery network.
The company operates across four continents and delivers products, including food and medical supplies, using autonomous drones. It believes drone deliveries can provide a faster alternative to traditional road based delivery services.
Zipline had previously raised $600 million earlier in 2026 at a valuation of $7.6 billion. The latest funding round represents a significant increase in the company’s value within a short period.
The drone delivery market is becoming increasingly competitive as companies expand their networks. In August 2026, Zipline partnered with Uber to offer autonomous drone deliveries to Uber Eats customers, with Uber also taking a strategic stake in the company.
Meanwhile, other companies are also investing in drone based delivery services. The industry, however, continues to face challenges related to regulatory approvals, safety and concerns from local communities about noise.
The latest funding gives Zipline significant resources to expand its operations and strengthen its delivery network. Its ability to scale successfully will depend on regulatory support, customer adoption and the company’s ability to operate safely and efficiently across a larger number of locations.
