According to the RBI data, in July 2017, Indian Inc’s overseas direct investment did fell over 47 percent to USD 1.77 billion.

In last year, during the same month, Indian companies had invested USD 3.35 billion.

From the total investment made by Indian companies overseas in foreign ventures, USD 900.66 million has been in the form of issuance of guarantee, USD 513.81 million as loan and USD 353.55 million as part of equity investment.
