Vodafone Idea Complete Self-assessment of AGR Dues

Vodafone Idea has completed assessing due which is related to the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) that it owes the government and as per the self-assessment exercise, the liabilities amount to Rs 21,533 crore.
β€˜The company has today filed its self-assessment of the AGR liabilities with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The self-assessment discloses the company’s AGR liabilities to aggregateΒ Rs 21,533 crore, including a principal amount ofΒ Rs 6,854 crores for the period from FY 2006-07 to FY 2018-19 and interest up to February 2020,’ the cash-strapped company said in a filing to the exchanges.
Of the total dues, the company has already paidΒ Rs 2,500 crore on 17 February and anotherΒ Rs 1,000 crore on 20 February, Vodafone Idea added. Vodafone Idea has been the worst hit by the verdict, as its past dues have soared to overΒ Rs 50,000 crore, as per government’s calculations. Last month, Bharti Airtel had said that according to the company’s self-assessment of AGR dues, the company owedΒ Rs 13,004 crore to the government which it has already paid off. As per government calculations, the Sunil Bharti Mittal-led company owed overΒ Rs 35,000 crore to the DoT.
