Adani Energy Commissioned Largest Inter-Regional Electricity Transmission Line

The company will raise funds through debt and equity, which will be repaid over the 30-year agreement.

Adani Energy Solutions on 19 October announced that it had commissioned the largest inter-regional Warora-Kurnool electricity transmission line.

The project spans over 1,765 circuit kilometres across Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh and will strengthen the national grid of India and ensure a seamless power flow of 4,500 megawatts between western and southern regions.

This is the largest 765-kilovolt tariff-based competitive bidding project ever awarded under a single scheme. The project involved the laying of a 1,756 circuit kilometre transmission line that travels across Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh and also the construction of a 756-kilovolt sub-station in Warangal that was on a build, own, operate, and maintain basis.

The 765-kilovolt transmission line was fully commissioned by Adani Energy Solutions Limited.

Earlier, the project was awarded a Tariff-based Competitive Bid to Essel InfraProjects Ltd in 2016. Later, the project was acquired by Adani Energy Solutions in March 2021 following the stressed debt restructuring undertaken by lenders.
