On Monday, West Bengal Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee said the state government had approved Adani Enterprises to set up a hyper-scale data centre park in the Bengal Silicon Valley in the New Town area on the city’s outskirts.

Speaking at a press conference in the state assembly, Chatterjee said the cabinet had approved the company to set up the facility on 51.75 acres of land.

“The state cabinet today approved Adani Enterprise’s proposal to set up a 100% hyper-scale data centre park in Bengal Silicon Valley in New Town, Rajarhat. The project will be built on 51.75 acres of land, which has been leased for 99 years,” Chatterjee said. He declined to disclose the employment that the project would create.
