Adani NDTV Squabbles, Modifications To DESH Law, and More

SEBI sees no obstacles to the share transfer in the Adani-NDTV conflict. According to three people with direct knowledge of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) thinking, the regulator has determined that there is no restriction on RRPR Holding Ltd, a promoter entity of news organisation New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), from allocating shares to Adani Group.


More wheat-related exports are prohibited. To control growing prices before the holiday season, the government has decided to restrict the export of maida, semolina, and wholemeal atta. This comes following a prohibition on wheat exports on May 13 and a week ago on wheat flour, or atta.


A bill to expedite CCI clearances for M&As is in the works. Suppose the competition watchdog does not have an initial negative impression. In that case, investors may receive a fast-tracked clearance for mergers and acquisitions from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) within 20 days of being told of the deal.


There may be new restrictions on the DESH bill. The planned Development of Enterprise and Service Hubs (DESH) Bill, which seeks to reform special economic zones, is expected to include requirements relating to minimum employment and production as part of the department of commerce’s strategy to allay the worries of the revenue department.
