Advait Energy Arm Signs 1 GWh Battery Cell Deal with Hithium

Advait Battery Ecosystem has signed a 1 GWh LFP cell supply deal with China's Hithium

Advait Battery Ecosystem has signed a 1 GWh LFP cell supply deal with China’s Hithium for its upcoming Gujarat BESS facility.

The agreement was signed on 18 September 2026. Under its terms, Advait can buy up to 1 GWh worth of battery cells from Hithium over the next one year.

In simpler terms, this deal locks in a steady supply of the raw battery cells Advait needs, instead of the company having to source them on a case by case basis as demand comes in.

Hithium will supply its 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells, a format that is widely used across the global energy storage industry.

On pricing, the first 350 MWh of cells under this deal have been fixed at $49.5 per kWh. That covers roughly a third of the total order.

Pricing for the remaining volume has not been finalised yet and will depend on how Advait’s future project orders shape up.

This cell supply deal is a building block for something larger. Advait is setting up a 2.5 GWh battery energy storage system, or BESS, assembly facility at Gangad in Gujarat.

Once up and running, this plant will handle everything from assembling battery modules and packs to container integration and final system commissioning, turning raw cells into storage units that utilities and industries can actually use.

This is not Advait’s first move to build out this ecosystem either. The company had earlier partnered with Adaptive Engineering to handle engineering design and energy management system architecture for its BESS business.

With Hithium now on board for cell supply, two of the more critical pieces of the puzzle are in place.

Bhushan Shahane, Chief Operating Officer of Advait Battery Ecosystem, said the company is looking to work with dependable, high quality partners as it scales up the Gujarat facility.

Hithium is recognised as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer and already supplies battery cells and storage systems to clients across utility scale, industrial and residential markets globally.

Taken together, the agreement points to Advait’s broader push to build a more self reliant, India based battery manufacturing chain, one that depends less on last minute sourcing and gives the company more control over how quickly it can scale up.
