India has successfully test-fired its most advanced nuclear-capable missile, Agni-5, marking a major leap in its strategic deterrence. The test, conducted under the Strategic Forces Command in Odisha, validated the missile’s MIRV (Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle) technology—allowing a single missile to carry and strike multiple targets with nuclear warheads.

What is Agni-5?

Built with lightweight composite materials, the missile can carry a nuclear payload of up to 1.5 tonnes and is guided by advanced navigation systems for high accuracy.
