Agritech Firm DeHaat Acquires B2B SaaS Platform FarmGuide

Agritech startup DeHaat said it has acquired FarmGuide, a business-to-business (B2B) Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. DeHaat’s co-founder and chief executive Shashank Kumar said the company will use its existing digital tech and physical platform with FarmGuide’s spatial technology and data science platform to create a full-stack platform for farmers and agri-businesses in India.
The founding team of FarmGuide has already joined DeHaat and the core database and tech platform will be integrated with DeHaat’s full-stack technology, Kumar said. “We will be able to provide more precise and customized solutions in a real-time, scalable manner to farmers using FarmGuide’s tech advisory solutions which are based on satellite imagery,” said Kumar.
FarmGuide was started four years ago by IIT Delhi alumni Nikhil Toshniwal and Ankit Gupta. It has developed a SaaS-based platform using satellite data to detect farm boundaries and data-driven customized crop advisory services.
“The tech platform developed by FarmGuide complements our vision of bringing efficiency and transparency in the agri supply chain. Its GIS technology and ability to use satellite data for crop monitoring and analysis will help DeHaat to provide super-customized crop advisory solutions to farmers and relevant insights to businesses transacting on the DeHaat platform for agri input as well as agri output,” said Shyam Sundar Singh, co-founder, DeHaat.
