Bharti Airtel said its anti-fraud measures have sharply reduced cybercrime on its network.
According to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), financial losses from cybercrime on the Airtel network fell 68.7%, while overall incidents dropped 14.3% between September 2024 and June 2025.
Airtel credited its AI-powered spam and fraud detection tools for the decline. Over the past year, the network blocked more than 48.3 billion spam calls and 3.2 lakh fraudulent links.
The company launched Indiaβs first network-based AI spam detector in September 2024 and, in May 2025, introduced a global first for blocking malicious links in real time. These services are automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband users at no extra cost.
Airtel said the findings show the value of telecom and government collaboration to fight digital scams.
