Shares of Alkyl Amines Chemicals jumped as much as 9% on Tuesday, touching a day high of Rs 1,989 on the NSE.
The trigger was the company’s June quarter numbers, and they were strong. Standalone net profit came in at Rs 94.6 crore, up 91% from Rs 49.4 crore a year earlier. Revenue rose 30% to Rs 528 crore, against Rs 405.5 crore in the same quarter last year.
Sales growth wasn’t the only highlight. The bigger story was the sharp improvement in profitability. Operating margin widened to 25.3% from 18.9% a year ago, aided by softer raw material costs and a gain from inventory movements during the quarter. Profit before tax nearly doubled too, at Rs 124.7 crore versus Rs 66.3 crore last year.
There was also news on leadership. The board approved a restructuring at the top, with Yogesh M. Kothari moving to Executive Chairman and Kirat M. Patel and Suneet Y. Kothari stepping in as Joint Managing Directors from 1 October, pending shareholder approval.
Rakesh Goyal was reappointed Executive Director, Operations, for another five years starting April 2027. This follows the company’s AGM in July, where shareholders cleared a final dividend of Rs 10 per share for FY26.
By the close of trade, the stock settled at Rs 1,921.20 on the NSE, up 5.31% on the day. That takes Alkyl Amines’ gain for the year to nearly 20%, even as the stock still sits well below its 52 week high of Rs 2,340.10, hit last August.
