Amazon India aims to cut costs by reducing discounts, spends on marketing

Amazon India, for the purpose of achieving its target to profitable by 2019, is planning to cut losses through reduction in packaging and delivery costs and bring automation into its warehousing.

In June 2016, an initiative called ‘Get Fit’ had been introduced by the company.

According to a report, Amazon has started cutting costs through reducing spends on marketing and discounts from 2016 levels under the new initiatives and it aims to cut these costs further over the next two years.

Amazon has been spending freely for maintaining the market share and deal with competition up till now.
