Ashok Leyland April Sales Down 6%, Shares Down 2%

Domestic sales dropped 7% YoY to 12,509 units.

Shares of Ashok Leyland Ltd fell 2% after touching a day’s high of Rs 225.60 on 2nd May. The decline came as the company reported weaker-than-expected sales figures for April 2025.

Ashok Leyland’s total vehicle sales fell 6% YoY in April 2025 to 13,421 units, down from 14,271 units in April 2024. The M&HCV bus segment saw the sharpest drop, falling 22% YoY to 1,841 units from 2,371.

M&HCV truck sales declined 9% YoY, reaching 6,119 units compared to the same month last year.

Domestic sales dropped 7% YoY to 12,509 units, down from 13,446 units in April 2024. Within domestic M&HCVs, truck sales fell 10% and bus sales plunged 28% compared to last year.

LCV sales were the only positive, rising 6% YoY to 5,103 units in the domestic market and 5,461 units overall.

At 12:10 PM, the shares of Ashok Leyland were trading 1.98% lower at Rs 220.86 on NSE.
