The flagship company of the Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland, on 21 December, announced that it had received an order for 552 Ultra-Low Entry (ULE) buses from Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation for public transport.
The company has a long-standing collaboration with Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, with more than 1,800 buses operational in its fleet.

The company added that the delivery of these buses will commence in the next few months and is being funded by the German Development Bank.
According to the company, the new ULE buses have features such as an H-series 6-cylinder 4-valve 184 kW engine, rear engine configuration, front disc brake, a step-less entry, an intelligent transportation system with CCTV, electronically controlled front and rear air suspension, vehicle tracking, and destination boards reflecting vehicle location.
