Shares of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd were trading in the red and 1% lower on 15 September despite its wholly owned subsidiary, Apitoria Pharma, successfully completing a US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) inspection at its Unit IV API manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh with zero observations. 

The USFDA conducted the inspection at the facility from September 7 to September 11, 2026. The Unit IV facility is located in Pydibhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district and manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The five-day inspection concluded without any observations from the US regulator.

A zero-observation outcome is considered favourable for a pharmaceutical manufacturer because it indicates that the facility did not face any deficiencies during the inspection that required formal observations. 

This can provide greater confidence around the plant’s quality and compliance systems, particularly given the importance of USFDA standards for companies supplying the US market.

The latest development comes as Aurobindo Pharma continues to receive regulatory updates across its manufacturing network. Its subsidiary Apitoria Pharma operates several facilities that supply APIs and other pharmaceutical products to international markets.

The company has also received other US regulatory developments recently, making the clean inspection at Unit IV particularly relevant for investors tracking its compliance position. Aurobindo Pharma remains heavily exposed to international markets, with the US being an important market for its generic pharmaceutical business.
