Bharti Airtel July-September Report; Net Profit at Rs 1,341 Crore

The company reported a 54% YoY increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,442.2 crore.

Bharti Airtel, on 31 October, announced its quarterly earnings for July-September.

The telecom service provider reported a 37.50% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,340.7 crore for the quarter against Rs 2,145.2 crore reported in the year-ago quarter.

The company reported its revenue from operations for the quarter at Rs 37,043.8 crore, registering a 7.28% YoY growth against Rs 34,526.8 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The company’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) saw a 10.96% YoY increase to Rs 19,665 crore against Rs 17,721.2 crore reported in Q2FY23. The EBITDA margin contracted by 20 basis points to 53.1% for the quarter.

The consolidated net debt of the company declined to Rs 1.47 lakh crore as of 30 September 2023, compared to Rs 1.57 lakh crore reported on 30 September 2022.

The average revenue per user from its Indian operations saw a 1.5% quarter-on-quarter growth to Rs 203.

The mobile user count of its customers from India saw a 4.4% increase to 34.33 crore, while voice traffic grew 8% YoY and data traffic grew significantly by 19.6% YoY during the quarter.

On 30 October, the company was levied a penalty of Rs 1.72 lakh from the Department of Telecommunications, Uttar Pradesh, on alleged violation of terms and conditions in regards to subscriber verification norms under the Licence Agreement.
