Bharti Airtel’s Nxtra Data to Set Up Data Centre Campuses

Nxtra Data Ltd., data centre subsidiary of Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced that it will set up two new data centre campuses in Mumbai and Pune.
The company has already set up two large data centres in Maharashtra, to Edge data centres across Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Kolhapur. It has also signed a memorandum of understanding for new campuses with the Maharashtra government.
Recently, The Carlyle Group has announced an investment of up to $235 million through its entities for acquiring a 25 per cent stake in Nxtra Data at a post-money valuation of $1.2 billion. The proceeds will be used by the company for continuing to scale up its infrastructure and offerings across India, said Nxtra.
“We are on a mission to support the growth of India’s digital ecosystem with state-of-the-art and highly secure data centre infrastructure,” said CEO of Nxtra Data, Rajesh Tapadia. The company is delighted to add its footprint in Maharashtra as a part of the nationwide expansion plan for serving the evolving requirements of digital India, he added.
Currently, Nxtra Data Ltd. has a portfolio of 10 large data centres and more than 120 Edge data centres to provide customers with co-location, cloud infrastructure, data backup, managed hosting, disaster recovery and remote infrastructure management services.
