The Bharuch bullet train station on Gujarat’s Dahej Bypass Road is nearing completion, with construction shifting to finishing touches.

Located on Dahej Bypass Road in Gujarat, the station is one of twelve stops on the 508 km Mumbai to Ahmedabad bullet train corridor, India’s first high speed rail project.

Once the corridor is operational, it aims to cut travel time between the two cities down to roughly two hours and seven minutes. Structurally, the station is largely built.

Workers have finished casting the rail and platform slabs, put up the structural steel framework, and completed the roof sheeting. Attention has now shifted to the finer details, including façade work and laying platform flooring.

The design carries a distinctly local touch. The station’s exterior draws inspiration from Bharuch’s traditional cotton weaving craft, tying the building’s look to the region’s cultural roots rather than going with a generic modern design.

The station itself is planned across two levels. The ground floor will house passenger amenities, while the platform level above will have two side platforms for boarding and alighting.

Inside, travellers can expect a waiting lounge, a nursery, restrooms and a few retail outlets, with lifts and escalators helping people move between floors.

Outside, the station will offer dedicated pick up and drop off zones, along with parking for cars, two wheelers, auto rickshaws and buses. A pedestrian plaza is also part of the plan.

On connectivity, the station links directly to SH-06, the Bharuch to Dahej highway, and sits about 4 km from the Mumbai to Delhi Expressway, making road access fairly convenient once it opens.
