BHEL, the state run power equipment maker, has commissioned a 600 MW unit at Kakatiya Thermal Power Project, Telangana.

BHEL said in a statement that “The unit, commissioned at Kakatiya Thermal Power Project (KTPP) at Chelpur in Warangal District of Telangana, is the highest rating unit in the state.”

As per the statement, one coal based unit of 500 MW commissioned by BHEL in 2015 is already operational at KTPP.
