BHEL Shares Rally 4% on Bagging Rs 4,000 Crore Order

The project contributes to the nation's 500GW renewable evacuation and transmission plan.

Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) rallied 4% during the early trading hours of 28 March after the company announced securing a Rs 4,000 crore order from Adani Power.

In its regulatory filing, the company said that they have received an order for setting up the 2×800 megawatt (MW) Raigarh Phase-II thermal power plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh from Adani Power.

The order is for the supply of equipment, including boiler, turbine, and generator and the supervision of erection and commissioning for a 2×800-MW power project based on supercritical technology at Raigarh Phase II, Chhattisgarh. The supply of Unit-1 will be executed in 31 months and Unit-2 will be executed in 35 months.

The turbine generators and boilers are manufactured at the company’s Trichy and Haridwar plants.

Earlier in March, the company secured an order from NTPC for setting up 1,600 MW Singrauli Supercritical Thermal Power Plant (STPP) Stage-III, which will be set up adjacent to the existing 2,000-MW thermal power station at Singrauli in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.

At 3:30 pm, the shares of BHEL closed 1.81% higher at Rs 247.50 on NSE.
