On 4th June, Britain pledged to deliver 100,000 drones to Ukraine by April 2026 — a tenfold increase in drone support.

The pledge is part of a £350 million (approximately Rs 3,950 crore) drone package under its broader £4.5 billion (Rs 50,700 crore) military aid package.

This move follows a new Strategic Defence Review that calls for a more technology-driven army to tackle future threats, including those posed by Russia.

Defence Secretary John Healey will announce the plan during a 50-nation Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting in Brussels.

Britain said drones have transformed the battlefield, and it plans to learn from Ukraine’s war experience.

Besides drones, the UK has already sent 1.4 lakh artillery shells since January and will spend another £247 million this year to train Ukrainian forces.
