Byju’s to File its Audited Financial Results on September 6

Byju’s, the Bengaluru-based Edtech startup, has informed its investors that it is likely to finalise its audited financial results for FY21 by September 6. Auditor Deloitte has approved the audited financial results. Once the company receives the final report, it is expected to hold its board meeting next week.

This information came after the Ministry of Corporate Affairs asked Byju’s reasons for not filing its audited financial accounts for the year ending March 2021. Earlier in August, the ministry sent a letter to Byju’s parent company asking them to explain the seventeen-month delay in filing audited accounts.

The Edtech Company has reported that the delay in filing is because of consolidating the accounts companies it acquired during the accounting year. It is to be noted that Byju’s is expanding with the acquisition of multiple startups in the US and elsewhere.

As per the regulatory norms, an unlisted company has to file its annual accounts within seven months of the financial year-end. After the due date, they have to pay an additional fee for each day of delay.

Founded in 2011, the Edtech startup claims to have over 115 million registered students. Byju’s app was developed by Think and Learn Pvt. Ltd.
