Centre Launches Registration For BH-Series For New Vehicles

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a new registration mark for new vehicles in the Bharat series (BH-series). A transport with a BH mark will not require a new registration when the owner shifts from one state to other. It also said, “This facility will be open on a voluntary base to Defence personnel, employees of Central & State Govt, PSUs, and private sector companies having their offices in 4 or more States/UTs.”

“State relocation occurs with both government and private sector employees. Such things create a concern with regards to the transfer of registration from the origin state to another state as under Section 47 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, a person is not permitted to keep the vehicle for not more than 12 months in any other state than where the vehicle is registered, but a new registration with the new state-registering has to be made within the specified time of 12 months,” the ministry said.
