Chennai Petroleum Corp Ltd has shut its 210,000 barrels per day (bpd) Manali refinery on Wednesday because of heavy flooding in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, said Gautam Roy, the Managing Director.

He said that “we have shut down the entire refinery from last night due to heavy rains and floods,” and added that the smaller 20,000 bps Nagapattinam refinery was operating normally.
