Cholamandalam Finance Hits 52-Week High on Strong Q4 Updates

Cholamandalam Investment shares soar after payout, collection efficiency improves.

On April 6, Cholamandalam Finance and Investment Company’s shares rose over 7% in early trade and verified its highest level 52 weeks after it recorded strong Q4 loan growth.


The non-banking finance lender’s disbursements soared 65% YoY to Rs 21,020 crore against Rs 12,718 crore last year. For FY23, disbursements rose 87% to Rs 66,532 crore from FY22’s Rs 35,490 crore.


Disbursement increase was witnessed across sections like home loans, vehicle finance, MSME, and others. In Q4FY23, the lender paid Home Loans of Rs 1,405 crore, whereas the disbursements amounted to Rs 3,830 crore for the financial year, reflecting YoY growth of 156% and 102%, respectively.


Meanwhile, MSME business disbursements were Rs 2,104 crore in Q4 and Rs 6,388 crore in FY23, reflecting a year jump of 127% and 232%, respectively.


At 10.40 am, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company shares traded with gains of 6.84% at Rs 836.85 on the National Stock Exchange. The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 838.60 in the earlier session. Besides, 34 lakh shares changed hands against the one-month trading average of 11 lakh shares.

In the January to March quarter, the lender’s collection competence on billing at an overall level stood at 130%. The company holds a strong liquidity position, having a cash balance of Rs 5,222 crore, comprising investments worth Rs 1,500 crore in G-sec and Rs 1,600 crore in T-bills.
